Ido Erani was born in 1945 in Forlì, the town where he still lives and where he has worked for more than fifty years.

Erani showed an early artistic talent and studied art at the "Liceo Artistico" of his town.

During the 1970s, Erani moved to Milan where he attended the prestigious "Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera".

In the 1970s, being Milan the centre of important national avant-garde art movements, Erani bagn to deal whit several important artists such as Giovanni Cappelli, Walter Cremonini, Giancarlo Giannini and Luigi Timoncini.

Due to this youthful experience, Ido Erani developed and improved his art and was awarded important prizes. He took part in several national and international events, by winning prestigious awards.

Abroard, mostly in the USA, he reached the highest level of his creative expression and he made friends with Roy Linchtenstein and Andy Warhol, the world major Pop Art artist.

During his stay in Las Vegas, Erani frequently came back to Italy, to his beloved Romagna, to maintain good realtions whit his native country.

In the USA, Erani improved his own artistic techniques, his methods of representation and the use of colour by observing the world around him. The artist was not contaminated by the trends of the moment; instead, he was inspired by them, being capable of bringing about further creative energy.

Thanks to his inborn talent and to his love for art, critics of the time wrote about his art and appreciated his artistic works worldwide. Some of Erani's works are at the "Rockfeller Museum" and at the "Guggenheim Museum" in the New York, and even in France, where Ido Erani, has been well critized.

In 2004 Erani was awarded the "Rotary Prize" and was conferred the "Paul Harris Fellow" for his artistic talent and his humanitarian commitment. Ido Erani's painting "ad afresco" interprets memory and recalls classic models. These classic models are sometimes high-sounding and severe, begin watered-down and made evanescent by his capability of using the colour like a "patina" of age, which shrouds and exalts the main theme of his works.

He has exhibited in 2015 at Arte Fiera in Bologna with the Art Studio "Campaiola" of Rome.

Selected by Professor Vittorio Sgarbi, it is present in the exhibition "The Treasure of Italy" at Hall Eataly Art Expo of Milan and the exhibition "The Grain of Italy" at the Palazzo della Regione Lombardia.
